STOP MOTION VIDEO

In the past few years we have seen another “old school” trend returning – the frame by frame videos, now called STOP MOTION. In the age of Avatar 3D movie and Pixar computer animated films, it is nice to see some old fashioned frame by frame action. Although it can very easily fall in the trap of fashion victim or an easy solution, it can still be an impressive video as long as it is clearly serving and emphasizing the concept of the video and showing off the great effort behind the actual making of the video.

Here are some great examples that will WOW you for sure:

ME by Ahree Lee. She has taken a picture of herself everyday for 3 years and put it together in a video showing the days fly by at roughly a week per second, blending together to make a new image that transforms over time.

COMBO a collaborative animation by Blu and David Ellis.

DEADLINE by Bang-yao Liu. This is his senior project. A stop motion made from Post-It notes, shows how he struggles with ideas just before the deadline.

Two music videos:

HER MORNING ELEGANCE by Oren Lavie, Yuval & Merav Nathan

AUTUMN STORY by Yanni Kronenberg and Lucinda Schreiber
